The skin should be firm and smooth free of bruising and cracks and with an overall deep, even color. Red Garnet and Jewel sweet potatoes are great for this recipe and have an orange or red skin color.

Oven Baking:
If you intend on baking this simple recipe, you will need to first preheat the oven to 375° F. Then add parchment paper to a large baking sheet and spray with cooking spray.
Mix butter and honey in a large skillet. Then melt and stir continuously over medium-high heat.
Once thoroughly combined, remove the mixture from the heat and toss in the chopped sweet potatoes to coat with the honey-butter mixture. Sprinkle in salt and pepper and then stir to combine and coat each chunk of potatoes.
Place the chopped sweet potatoes in a single layer on top of the parchment paper. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake for 30 minutes at 375° F. Remove from oven and dust parsley over the top prior to serving.
How to cook sweet potatoes on the grill …
Grilling Option 1:
If you’d like to toss them on your Traeger or gas grill, just melt the butter and honey in a large cast-iron skillet, add the chopped potatoes, season with salt and pepper, and then sprinkle with cinnamon. Place the cast-iron skillet on top of the grill grates and cook at 375° F for 30 minutes or until the potatoes are fork-tender. Dust with dried or fresh herbs prior to serving.
