Cook the beef until it is thoroughly cooked and no longer pink. Then it is safe to try a little bite to see if you need to add more seasonings. Adjust as needed to reach your preferred great flavor. Kick it up a notch by adding a little cayenne pepper or dried pepper flakes!

Continue to stir for about 3 to 5 minutes to ensure the corn soaks up the flavors and seasoning. Then remove from the heat and set to the side.

Once the ingredients have been combined well, add a layer of tater tots to the top of the dish. Do not combine the two, just allow them to sit on the top.

Sprinkle the top of the single layer of tater tots with seasoned salt. And finally, bake this hearty meal in a preheated oven at 375 degrees F. for about 50 minutes or until the dish is bubbly and the tots are golden brown.

Around the 45 minute mark of baking, top the tots with shredded cheddar cheese and finish baking.

How to store leftovers:

Store leftovers in the casserole dish covered in either plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Or transfer what’s left to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave when you’re ready to eat again.

If you plan to make freezer meals with this tater tot recipe, I would suggest using disposable aluminum pans so you still have access to your baking dish. Seal tightly with a few layers of foil over the top, write the date on the top, and bake within 3 months.
