Instructions
Use a large bowl to dissolve the sugar in warm water, then stir in yeast. Allow the mixture to proof (rest) until it creates a creamy foam. Stir in the kosher salt and vegetable oil.
Begin to mix in the flour one cup at a time.
Lightly flour a clean surface and knead your dough until smooth. Place your dough in a well-oiled bowl. Turn the dough over in the bowl to thoroughly coat with oil.
Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and allow it to rise for about an hour until it has doubled in size.
Remove dough from bowl and punch it down. Knead for about 3 to 5 minutes on a lightly floured surface. Then divide the dough in half and shape into loaves.
Heavily coat two 9x5 - inch loaf pans with non-stick baking spray and then place each loaf into the pans. Let the dough rise in the loaf pans for 30 minutes, or until it has risen 1-inch above your pans.
Bake at 350° degrees F for 30 minutes.Carefully remove the bread from each loaf pan and allow it to cool and rest on a wire cooling rack for about 20 minutes.
